Abstract

The review and analysis of the literature devoted to the study of anode materials based on metal-fluorite and perovskite for solid oxide fuel cells was conducted. The state-of-the-art in the field of new anode materials is given. In particular, the influence of powder synthesis techniques, microstructure and chemical composition of the anodes on their properties is discussed. In addition, such important issues as resistance to sulfur poisoning, re-oxidation, mechanical properties, and degradation of the anodes are reviewed. Various approaches for improvement of electrochemical properties of the anode materials are presented. Furthermore, new ways to improve the performance of the anode materials are proposed.
