Abstract

The sessile drop method in vacuum 2·10-3 Pа and on air at temperature 550 °C investigates wetting substances with various type of chemical connection (ionic — Al2O3, SiO2, CaF2, covalent — graphite and diamond and metal — Ag, Cu, Pt, Ni, Al) liquid AgCl. In case of wetting the ionic compounds by liquid silver chloride the wetting angles θ are equal 5––46 °, covalent substances are non-wetting by AgCl — angles exceed substances 90 °, at wetting of metals the wetting angles are close to 0°, exception is only copper at wetting on air (θ = 31°) and aluminium (θ = 10°).
