Structure Formation of Ceramic Materials

The monograph summarizes the findings of the author's research as well as the results of analysis of literary information on the principal problems of structure formation of ceramic materials based predominantly on non-oxide substances with covalent and ionic-covalent chemical bond types. On the basis of these data, a concept and an algorithm of microstructure design for ceramic materials are proposed. Also, structural mechanisms of the development of fundamental solid- state transformations, such as plastic deformation, polymorphic and polytypic transformations, and recrystallization, occurring in the course of microstructure formation in ceramic materials, are considered.
