MSRC-2024 Preliminary Announcement

Dear colleagues!

We are pleased to announce the Xth International Samsonov Conference “Materials Science of Refractory Compounds” (MSRC-2026) to be held on May 25-28, 2026, in Kyiv, Ukraine.

MSRC-2026 will be held as a predominantly offline event in Kyiv (E.O. Paton Education and Research Institute of Materials Science and Welding, KPI), with the possibility of online participation for attendees who are unable to join in person.

The Samsonov Conference is a long-standing international scientific forum dedicated to the Materials Science of refractory compounds and related materials.

The conference honors Grigoryi Samsonov, whose pioneering work laid the foundations for modern research and industrial applications of refractory carbides, nitrides, borides, silicides, and other advanced compounds. Over 400 refractory compounds were synthesized and extensively characterized under his supervision and described in 36 books.

The Xth anniversary edition of the conference is jointly organized by:

• National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” (KPI)

• Frantsevich Institute for Problems of Materials Science, NAS of Ukraine (IPMS)

• Frantsevich Ukrainian Materials Research Society (UMRS)

Continuing the long-standing tradition of the Samsonov Conferences, MSRC-2026 will bring together researchers by providing a forum for keynote and invited lectures, oral and poster presentations in the following areas:

• Fundamentals of Refractory Compounds

• Refractory Metals and Alloys

• Ceramics and Composites

• Low-Dimensional Materials and Nanostructures

• Films and Coatings
  
  Detailed information regarding registration, abstract submission, and the conference schedule will be published in February 2026. For now, please save the dates in your calendar.
