Abstract

The kinetics of double titanium-chromium boride wetting by iron, nickel and iron-based alloys with different nickel content were studied. It was shown that in such systems the contact angles, were equal to 9-100 degree. The energetic parameters of wetting were calculated. It was established that nickel as the interaction-active element promoted to Fe-Ni alloy spreading out on the diboride surface. The microstructure of interaction zone was studied. It was shown that in TiCrB2-(Fe-Ni) system the limited solid solutions and eutectics were formed. For the TiCrB2-based composite materials the optimum compositions of metallic binder were determined.
