Production of TiNi Fibers by Melt Extraction

Abstract

The paper examines the production of TiNi fibers by pendent-drop melt extraction in vacuum. The mean effective diameter of the continuous fibers produced is 37 μm. Resistometrical investigation establishes that martensitic transformations in the fibers start at Ms = 17 °C.
