Abstract

The thermodynamic properties of Ni–Sb melts at 1241, 1363, and 1457 K in the range 0 ≤ хNi ≤ 0.5 were studied using the calorimetry method and ideal associated solution (IAS) model. The minimum mixing enthalpy is –26.9 kJ/mol at хNi = 0.58 and agrees with the values for Sb–3d-metal melts. Our and literature data were used to predict the formation enthalpies of melts and intermetallics in the binary Sb–transition metal system.
