Main courses of discovery

Generally the topics of our researches are in the field of alloy phase diagrams, chemical thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical processing of alloys. We study binary, ternary and multinary systems of d- and f-metals and as well those which include non-metallic components; solid and liquid metal alloys, refractory compounds, semiconductors. In more detail, in our investigations we have produced a great number of results in the following subjects:

  • Refractory systems based on Mo, W, Nb, Ta with carbides, borides, boride-silicides, boride-carbides.
  • Ternary and quaternary systems with titanium and boron.
  • Development and investigation of new metallic materials based on titanium, chromium, aluminium.
  • Alloys with metal-matrix composites.
  • Chemical thermodynamics (thermodynamic properties) of solid and liquid alloys of REM alloys.
  • Investigation of quasy-crystal forming systems with Al, Fe, Cr, Pd.
