Velikanova Tamara

Scientific interest

Prof. Velikanova has supervised investigation of many alloy systems, including those ones as follows:

  • alloys of systems based on Mo, W, and Cr with d-metals and carbon and elaboration of theoretic basis for creation of eutectic high-temperature alloys metal-carbide and hard facing alloy of cast tungsten carbide type, as followed systems: W–dM–C, Mo–dM–C, Sc–dM–C, Cr–dM–C, dM–Si-B, etc.,
  • the Ti-corners were studied for the systems Ti-B-X and Ti-Al-B-X (where X is Si, Ge, Sn, V, or Nb).
  • studying the d-metal-carbide and titanium-boride eutectics. The titanium alloys containing boride were studied in the frame of partner STCU project P-060.

Scientific awards

  • Frantsevich Prize of National Academy of Sciences (1987);
  • State Prize of Ukraine (1991).

Biography

Prof. Tamara Velikanova is world-acknowledged specialist in materials science. She works in the field of alloy investigations and phase diagrams of ternary and multinary (multicomponent) systems. She has a great experience in the studying of alloy properties as a base for new materials development and technological background for production of alloys. She has 4 monographs and more than 250 scientific publications, 1 patent of Former USSR.
