Abstract

The paper studies the structurization of aluminum oxide ceramics sintered with additions of a synthesized fine SiC–Fe2O3 powder alloy. The fine-grained powder alloy particles promote the densification of the alumina matrix. The mechanical properties of the composites are examined. The material obtained is tested as a cutting tool.
