Abstract

Urgency of TiB2—TiN composition use as cutting material due to high mechanical properties, oxidation resistance, frictional properties and wear resistance was proved. Heat conductivity of TiB2—TiN ceramics exceeded considerably heat conductivity of ОНТ-20 (кортинит), РК-30 (силинит-Р) ceramics which have been produced. The tests which have been conducted in LTD "Virial"(Saint Petersburg) showed possibility of TiB2—TiN composition use for faceted cutting inserts making by application of FAST sintering method.
