Abstract

A comparative analysis of stress-strain work hardening curves obtained in compressive tests at 20—300 oC is carried out for quenched at 310 and 350 oC bainitic cast irons. At room temperature testing sample’s hardening rate is in two times higher for the quenched at 350 oC sample that undergoes strain-induced phase transition. The difference in hardening rate decreases with increasing of temperature. Observed phenomena is related to temperature sensitivity of the phase transition. Full text download
