Abstract

The electrodeposition of tungsten carbide and zirconium diboride coatings on steelbased materials has been studied, as well as their physico-chemical and mechanical properties. These coatings increase the wear resistance of steel samples by 6— 11 times, as well as the abrasion resistance — by 7— 10 times. This allows us to recommend the tungsten carbide and zirconium diboride coatings deposition from ionic melts to increase the surface hardness, wear resistance, abrasion and corrosion resistance of steel materials.
