Abstract

The calorimetry method and the model of ideal associated solutions were used to determine the thermodynamic properties of melts of the Sn—Ho system for temperatures of 1640 and 1870 K in the range of compositions 0 ≤ xSn ≤ 1,0. It was established that the minimum value of the enthalpy of mixing is −71,8 ± 0,9 kJ/mol under the condition xSn = 0.5, and the activities of the components show very large negative deviations from ideal solutions.
