Abstract

Mechanical tests of 5 and 6 component high-entropy alloys, first obtained by hot forging, have been performed. The test results showed the high hardness and strength of the alloys obtained. TiCrFeNiC alloy (without annealing) has the highest mechanical properties. Its high strength is explained by the solid-state hardening and carbide formation in situ. Fractographic studies have shown mainly quasi-brittle fracture of alloy samples.
