Abstract

In this article the shape memory effect in respect with transition of the non-thermoelastic to the thermoelastic character of the MT in the Zr2CuNi-Zr2CuCo quasibinary cross-section is discussed. Characteristic temperatures of the thermal induced MT were studied by differential scanning calorimetry and three-point bending technique. Then, the SME behavior was studied by dilatometry after compression tests and by three point bending. The limits of SME which depend on the structural and microstructural characteristics of the interacting martensites in these compounds are discussed.
