Application of work at an automatic indentation for determination of mechanical properties of materials

Abstract

By the method of an automatic indentation for 40 materials of various types and states with record of the penetration diagrams of an indenter experimentally and analytically investigates a determination of hardness as the work accomplished on replacement of volume unit of a material, contacting with an indenter - HWc=Wc/Vc. Values of this hardness are compared to the hardness determined by standard technique НIT=Pm/Fc. Distinction in the values of hardness determined in these ways is established, its substantiation is offered, the ratio between them as HWc=0,843xНIT (for Berkovich"s indenter) is analytically received. Ratio between values of the works submitted on the automatic indentation diagram are established.
