Abstract

Features of the structure and micromechanical behavior of high-carbon steels which were obtained with different methods were investigated. Some laws of the composition (in particular the carbon content) and structure influencing on the change of hardening parameters are established. The analysis of experimental data shows that the high-carbon steel surface after deformation treatment is in the fine-grained and nanostructure state.
