Ultrafine grain structure and phase composition of the NiTi after warm abc-pressing

Abstract

Trends of the formation of the NiTi ultrafine grain structure after step-wise warm (673-573 К) abc-pressing were studied. It was shown that pressing results in the appearance of the mixed type of microstructure based on sub-microcrystalline and nano-grain components, while the latter is localized mainly in deformation micro-bands. The changes in the NiTi phase composition at 295 К after warm abc-pressing were determined.
