Abstract

Wettability of TiB2 by Fe melt with 2-30% (wt.) of Mo additives was investigated. Influence of molybdenum additives content on contact angles was determined and energy characteristics of wetting were calculated. Microstructure and element distribution of fracture surface at the wetting of solid?liquid system were analyzed by scanning electron microscope. The optimum compositions of metallic binders for TiB2-baesd composite materials were determined.
