Abstract

The paper presents an analytical review of published data and the authors' data on the use of incompletely sealed steel containers for sintering of products from iron powders in air. Additional technological methods are considered that remove oxidation products in the sintering process: introduction of protective gas microgenerators into containers or use of backfill. It is concluded that sintering of small and medium batches of powder products and remelting of powder waste at existing thermal stations are possible and feasible.
