Abstract

The base material produced from St10 low-carbon steel fibers (40–100 µm in diameter) is subjected to different types of thermochemical treatment: solid-phase contact diffusion nickel-plating followed by gas contact diffusion chromium-plating, cementation, quenching, and tempering; solid-phase contact diffusion nickel-plating followed by chromium-plating and cementation; gas high-temperature nitrogen hardening and cementation; contact gas borating. It is established that the yield stress (σ0,2) of these materials after this thermal treatment is two to six times higher than that of the base material.
