Abstract

The paper shows that X-ray diffraction can be used to evaluate changes in the energy capacity of materials after mechanical alloying to determine the energy characteristic of powder tungsten and molybdenum carbides in the charge preparation process. This is important to control the properties of tungsten carbide hardmetals and inoculate cast articles using molybdenum carbides.
