Abstract

The paper examines how the porosity of electrode materials used to restore parts influences the electrospark deposition process. The increase in porosity leads to decrease in heat conductivity of the electrode material. Less heat spreads along the electrode and, hence, more heat remains for melting. Erosion and deposition of the material increase accordingly.
