Abstract

Evolution of the phase composition of Fe–Mo–C spinning alloys has been traced in process of in situ investigation by the high-temperature X-Ray diffraction method from room temperature up to solidus. The temperature range of metastable β-Mn–like phase existence was determined. It was shown that at 1273 K γ-Fe based FCC-phase coexists in equilibrium with the solid solution on the base of Mo2C, and together with liquid phase coexist γ-phase and η-carbointermetallide of W3Fe3C-type. The politherm section at 11% (at.) carbon was calculated.
