Abstract

Method for dislocation dynamics is simulated by the interaction of cracks with the substructure. We considered two cases: the influence of grain size and influence deformational substructure on the patterns of spreading cracks in BCC metals. It is shown that the anomalous nature of the dependency of fracture toughness from grain size and degree of plastic deformation can be explained with regard to the interaction of dislocations, which are emitting from the crack tip, with the grain boundary or cell structure, which is formed in a deformed state. The results of calculations are in good agreement with the experimental dependencies.Full text download
