Abstract

Tested on the air by “butt-end – butt-end” scheme with no lubricant in the friction zone, the friction units were made of superhard cubic boron nitride-based materials by vacuum brazing. It was established that the friction coefficient decreases, provided the elastic module of superhard material decreases and the loading and sliding speed increase.
