Abstract

Processing of rice husk into SiC is the most efficient recycling method since it allows both of its constituents to be used: carbon and amorphous silica. Silicon carbide powder is synthesized in nonisothermal heating conditions at a rate of 3–10 C°/min to 1600 °C in argon gas from hydrothermally carbonized rice husk.
