Abstract

The effect of strain behaviors on the structure and mechanical properties of the powder materials based on aluminum-magnesium alloys, produced by ultra-fast crystallization of the melt, during dispersing with high-pressure water, is studied. Extrusion of powder compacts on a conveying belt with its further symmetric or asymmetric rolling was used as a strain technique. The effect of the symmetric and asymmetric rolling conditions on the mechanical properties of the powder material AMg5 with Zr and Sc added is investigated. It is shown that the use of fractional rolling of the ribbons made of AMg5 powder alloys significantly increases the ductility of the material and has a lesser effect on the hardening; the asymmetric rolling being more efficient than the symmetric one.
