Abstract

The results of X-ray diffraction studies of the diffusion layer and the transitional zone of boride coatings obtained by saturation of powdered carbon steels. Significant influence on the phase composition and crystal lattice parameters of iron-carbon alloys has borated activator of AlF3 in boriruyuschey mixture. The increase of the activator to 3% by weight leads to the activation process to form a solid bonding boride coating and the presence of borocarbides in the transition zone.
