Abstract

Methods to determine the compression strength of microspheres are improved. Their validity is confirmed by measurements of the buoyancy. It is demonstrated that a tangent circle method allows determining the point of maximum curvature of the deformation of the microspheres. The optimal ratio of the height of the microspheres to the diameter of the die mold (H/D) is determined. Variations of the elastic modulus and absorbed strain energy with the maximum stress during deformation cycle are obtained.
