Abstract

The data allow one to perform a thermodynamic analysis of the reduction or oxidation processes occurring in the W—CO—CO2-C system and, basing on them, to predict the mechanism of interaction of the system components. Temperature regimes are established in which these processes become a reality. When using the thermodynamic data obtained, a reaction medium can be selected and its composition can be established depending on the final product — W or WC. Cyclical processes in the tungsten reduction/carbonization stages are shown to be efficient.
