Abstract

Within the framework of a mathematical model that takes heat transfer into account by thermal conductivity and thermal radiation, the processes in the Ti-Al powder reacting system under contact melting are described. The effect of the rate constant of the synthesis of intermetallic compounds Ti3Al, TiAl, TiAl2, and TiAl3 on the thermokinetic behavior of the reacting system is studied. With the help of a computer experiment, the role of thermal radiation in the high-temperature synthesis processes of each intermetallide is investigated as a function of the rate of exothermic reaction processes occurring in the system.
