Abstract

It is shown that the yield strength of a tantalum single crystal in the case of large values of the Schmidt factor, more than 0,3, is described quite well the theory of thermally activated dislocation jumps with taking into account slip for other planes and dissociation of dislocations. In the case of small values of the Schmidt factor, it seems that the activation of dislocation glide along other planes must be taken into account more precisely.
