Abstract

Different character of effect of alloying with Sc and Gd on oxidation resistance of titanium intermetallic Ti-36Al alloy at 900 0C was established. It was showed that only small addition of Sc (0,05-0,09-wt. %) increased alloy oxidation resistance in contrast to Gd influence that growth of Gd content from 0,09 to 0,7-wt. % resulted in consistent decreasing of oxidation rate of alloys. Addition of 0,09-wt. % Sc or 0,7-wt. % Gd was established to decrease a mass gain at oxidation in five times in contrast with a mass gain at oxidation of an initial Ti-36Al alloy.
