Abstract

Electrodeposition of molybdenum, tungsten, and their carbides from carboncontaining halide-oxide and oxide melts was investigated. It is shown that the composition of cathodic products is determined by the concentration of carboncontaining component. Effects of conditions (melt composition, substrate material etc.) and parameters (temperature, cathode current density, duration of electrolysis, non-stationary current regimes etc.) of electrolysis on the composition and structure of coatings were studied.
