Abstract

The thermodynamic assessment of the Cu-Ti system, which bounds the ternary glass forming Cu-Ti-Zr system, has been carried out in the frameworks of the CALPHAD method. The set of self-consistent parameters of models of the thermodynamic properties of phases has been obtained taking into account phase equilibria information, data on thermodynamic properties of liquid alloys and intermetallic compounds. The Gibbs energy of liquid phase has been described by the ideal associated solution model. The thermodynamic properties of intermetallic compounds Cu4Ti and CuTi with homogeneity range has been described with sublattice models. The calculated phase diagram of the system and the obtained values of thermodynamic properties of phases are in good agreement with corresponding experimental information.
