Abstract

The iron-based binder composition and the W—С filler cooling rate have been chosen to work out composites designated for service in abrasive and gas-abrasive media. An original method of statistical analysis to determine quantitative structural characteristics has been suggested to control structural-and-phase composition of interfaces appearing between the filler and the binder during the infiltration. The recommended compositions of wear-resistant composites have been substantiated based on metallographic investigations of the specimen’s surface after testing.
