Abstract

The paper considers the possibility to control the recovery and wear processes during friction depending on the location of magnetic poles using electromagnetic techniques. It is shown that both the steel piston and copper alloy cylinder can be recovered in the magnetic field separately (without disassembling the mechanism). A method is developed for recovering the friction surfaces in the working environment modified by different magnetic powders in the pulsed magnetic field. The influence of the pulsed magnetic field on the tribological characteristics of the friction pair in the working environment with different magnetic powders is analyzed to reveal that the surfaces are the most efficient under the S/N pulsed magnetic field.
