Abstract

Rolling of porous powder meshed composite tapes reinforced with knitted wire meshes is discussed. Data are reported on the effect of the architecture and structural and defor¬mation features of knitted metal wire meshes on processing parameters of reinforced compo¬site tapes. It is established that a frame structure for powder meshed composites can help in rolling of hardly forming powder masses. Despite their porosity, the resultant tapes have sufficient loading capability and service properties required in a range of applications (electrode tapes, reinforced graphite sealings).
