Abstract

The paper examines the capability of alloys based on ZrIr, which undergoes martensitic transformation at temperatures higher than 700 °С, to develop thermomechanical properties accompanying the transformation. The ZrIr sample is found to restore its shape after being deformed during heating at a rate of 100 °C/sec to the temperature higher than the martensitic transformation temperature. The Zr–Ir–Co ternary alloy shows the same property when heated at a rate of about 1–2 °C/sec. The temperature dependence of resistivity of the binary and ternary alloys is considered.
