Abstract

Pressing of the titanium hydride powder in a mold lubricated by adipose for preparing briquettes with H/d ≈ 4/1 and additional pressing of these briquettes with a combined lubricant separating them from the mold were studied. It has been established that the briquette extrusion pressure is an order of magnitude lower in additional pressing than when the powder is pressed in a lubricated mold, which is indicative of fundamental decrease in the external contact friction during additional pressing. Pressing of the titanium hydride powder mixed with a water-soluble organic lubricant was tested.
