Abstract

Structural changes in preliminary decarburized synthetic vanadium-containing cast iron have been investigated, which occur by deformation in a liquid-solid state. The regularities of structure formation in various diffusion zones during subsequent carburization are established. The secondary hardness and heat resistance of a carbonized layer of vanadium iron deformed in a liquid-solid state after the final heat treatment was studied.
