Abstract

Computer simulations of directional solidification of boride-boride ceramics LaB6— ZrB2 have been performed on the basis of the standard version of the phase-field theory. The simulations reproduce the basic properties of the fiber structures observed in experiments, — the spatial segregation of components, formation of colonies and the dependence of the spatial structure parameter on the velocity of directional crystallization.
