Abstract

The synthesis features of CoAl2O4 powder from the blend of cobalt nitrate Co(NO3)2∙6H2O and the α-Al2O3 nanocrystalline powder were investigated. It is was found that CoA12O4 began to form at 1000 °C and the process was completed after heat treatment at 1200 °C. The color of the powder varied from pastel blue to bright blue color. The investigation results will be used for microstructure design of color composites in the ZrO2—Y2O3—СeO2—Al2O3—CoO system.
